The Pelican amphibian was designed by Russian homebuilders about 10 years ago. It is a twin engine amphibious flying boat. It has a fully enclosed cockpit that provides comfortable seating for three and superior visibility. The cabin is equipped with a full size instruments panel for basic flight and engine instruments. Two control sticks for left and right seats. Fuselage and wings are built of fiberglass. The amphibian has a retractable landing gear to permit take-off and landing from water and land. Owing to the successful aerodynamics and its twin (64 HP) engines this plane has excellent take-off and landing performances (50 meters from ground and about 25 meters from water), a rate of climb up to 8 m/sec, a cruising speed of 120..140 km/h and a very low stall speed. The range is up to 1500 km.
