SeaStar will be an aircraft kit that is easy to build. It will be fabricated in two halves at the centerline, that eliminates joints and reduces weight. This reduces the need for wet lay-ups by customer. All control surfaces will be properly engineered. SeaStar will be based on a dominant use of carbon graphite with only selective use of E-glass and Kevlar. The single piece wing uses modern airfoils and Z spar geometry for ease of construction. The use of Fowler flaps allows for a low landing speed. All of the SeaStar kits will be marketed as "quick build" kits as building time will be minimized while staying within the FAA 51% rule. For the first time builder with average ability and experience the time is estimated at 3000 hours for a basic VFR aircraft without options. More experienced builders will be able to complete this airplane within 2100 hours or less.
